The driven pulley for the spindle is a 36 tooth metric bore (8mm) with a 45 mm hub. That works out to be the same diameter as the G0704 spindle, which simplifies mounting the tach wheel. The driven pulley is machined to fit over the end of the spindle in place of the tach wheel and is mounted by the same holes that held the tach wheel in place.

I've found that a 40lb vise allows the table to move moderately easily, while 2 on there can get tight especially when hanging off the base when at the ends of x axis travel. That looks exactly like the Unit I got for my G0704 from alibaba. I just told them I had a Grizzly G0704 mill/drill and they sent me what I needed. Send the seller a message and see what happens. I have only had it about 3 weeks but am happy with it so far. Resolution is very accurate so far. Returns to zero setting on the dial consistently. Ron

I got a grizzly g0704 yesterday and am planning to convert it to cnc as soon as I can. I don't have any metal machining experience so this should be very interesting. New to the site and just in the middle of my own belt drive conversion albeit on an Optimum BF20. I had been wondering how to fix the Drive pulley onto the spindle carrier and see now how its done on the G0704. The 5mm flange that sticks up has no screw holes in it on the Optimum as the RPM's are measured with a sensor and magnets.

I was doing my spindle break in on my Grizzly G0704, I did the steps as required,10 min. at 600 rpm, 10 min 1000 rpm, then started 10 min at 2200. The G0759 has a large 7-1/16" x 26-5/8" table that can be moved by handwheels in both the longitudinal and cross directions. Both feed directions can be locked by table lock levers. The G0759 also features tapered gibs with double locks which adds accuracy and rigidity, a dovetail column; and it comes with its own stand.

The g0705 is going to be more durable in every way over the 704 although there are benefits of one wants to upgrade to CNC that the 704 has ready made kits everywhere. I made my own for the enco and it wasn't that bad. I'm about to convert my PM833t and would like another mill to keep manual.

The G0759 is the same mill with a dro For $500 more. Well worth it if you don't plan on going CNC anyway soon. The G0758 is the little brouther to the outher two. There is a huge following for the 704 HTTP://WWW.G0704.c0m But as always go with the largest mill you can afford and have spave for. B.

It's a decent mill for the price, but with the induction motor, it's for LIGHT duty only! Anything larger they about a 1/4" end mill, or a 1" face mill is over taxing the machine. I use mine primarily for folder work, and/or guard slotting. Personally, I have two mills, the G0704, and a large floor model Grizzly.

I also now have a round column RF30 type mill drill to use for heaver projects (got it at an auction for a couple hundred bucks while I was waiting on parts for the G0704). The machine (Grizzly G0704 Drill Mill with Stand) looks fine. and is reasonably accurate when it works. Eventually the motor will stop rotating. After checking all the basic possibilities I.E. fuses, connections, speed control potentometer I replaced the motor. This did not fix the problem. I called Grizzly service and they were no help.
